Newburn Law is growing – Introducing INK™

About INK Law
What is INK Law and what does the name stand for?

INK™ stands for Ivy, Newburn & Knight — the founding attorneys Patrick Ivy, Ryan Newburn, and Jedi Knight. INK is a Colorado-based business and corporate law firm delivering strategic legal counsel for every stage of business, from startup formation through complex litigation. Agile, lower overhead than BigLaw, and built to grow with their clients.

Where is INK Law located?

INK Law is headquartered at 1550 Larimer Street, Suite 128, Denver, CO 80202. The firm actively serves clients across Denver, New York, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Salt Lake City, and beyond.

How is INK different from a traditional BigLaw firm?

INK operates with lower overhead than BigLaw while delivering partner-level expertise on every matter. Clients work directly with senior attorneys — not associates — and get a team that is hands-on, direct, and focused on business outcomes rather than billable-hour padding.

Is INK licensed to practice in my state?

INK's attorneys are licensed across multiple states. Patrick Ivy is licensed in Texas, Colorado, North Dakota, and Wyoming. Ryan Newburn is licensed in Colorado, California, and Arizona. Jedi Knight is licensed in Colorado and Utah. Jessica Taylor is licensed in Massachusetts and at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The firm also partners with co-counsel as needed for matters in other jurisdictions.

Legal Services
What practice areas does INK Law cover?

INK provides full-spectrum business legal services: Business Law (M&A, commercial transactions, securities, cannabis, non-profits, real property), Corporate Law (corporate formation, energy/oil & gas, upstream & midstream), Civil Litigation (business disputes, construction, employment, IP, franchise, securities), Intellectual Property (patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets), plus Estate Planning and Criminal Defense.

Does INK handle mergers and acquisitions?

Yes — M&A is a core strength. Ryan Newburn is a published expert in leveraged buyouts with participation in transactions totaling over $18.4 billion. INK handles the full deal lifecycle from term sheets and due diligence through closing, across tech, energy, automotive/EV, and startup sectors.

Can INK help my startup?

Absolutely. INK works with companies from seed through Series B and beyond — corporate formation, contracts, intellectual property, equity structuring, and scaling. They view the startup-to-litigation journey as a long-term relationship, not individual transactions.

Does INK handle oil and gas law?

Yes. Patrick Ivy has decades of experience in energy law — upstream, midstream, pipeline litigation, field services, contract drafting and disputes, and government contracts. INK is one of the few agile firms with this depth of specialized energy expertise outside BigLaw.

What types of litigation does INK handle?

INK handles complex civil and commercial litigation including business disputes, construction defects, IP litigation, employment matters, franchise disputes, securities litigation, B2B fraud, financial distress cases, and co-counsel litigation support for national firms. Jedi Knight leads litigation strategy — direct, fearless, and deeply principled.

Does INK handle intellectual property matters?

Yes. INK's IP practice covers patents (200+ applications filed), trademarks (100+ applications), copyrights, and trade secrets. Jedi Knight also leads anti-bully IP advocacy — fighting back against companies that use legal pressure to intimidate smaller businesses.

Working With INK
How do I get started with INK Law?

Schedule a free consultation at calendly.com/patrick-ivy or call (720) 307-2627. You can also email contact@ink.law. INK has designed the intake process to be straightforward from first contact.

What does a free consultation include?

A direct conversation with an INK attorney — not a paralegal or intake coordinator. They listen to your situation, give an honest read on your legal exposure or opportunity, and explain how they can help. No corporate fluff, no sales pitch.

What are INK's pricing tiers?

INK offers three business legal packages: Corporate Foundation Strategy (~$8K/month for 3 months) — formation, transactions, and IP; Strategic Growth Strategy (~$15K/month for 3–6 months) — comprehensive corporate counsel; Comprehensive Legal Approach (~$20K+/month for 3–12+ months) — M&A, corporate finance, nonprofit, and complex litigation. Individual matters are also scoped separately.

Does INK work with other law firms as co-counsel?

Yes. INK actively partners with national and regional firms needing Colorado-licensed co-counsel for multi-state litigation or specialized matters. If your firm needs Colorado muscle, contact INK directly at contact@ink.law.

Track Record
What results has INK Law achieved for clients?

INK's track record: $18.4B in M&A transactions, 79 corporate formations, $400M+ in litigation & ADR, 200+ patent applications, 100+ trademark applications, 325+ SEC filings, matters across 17 countries. On the civil side: $150M+ in settlements and awards, hundreds of contested hearings, 100+ protection orders tried, and 100+ criminal defense cases with dismissals or reduced pleas.

Can INK handle complex B2B fraud or David-vs-Goliath disputes?

Yes — this is a core part of what INK does. Jedi Knight leads B2B Justice work: corporate fraud, standing up for smaller businesses against larger bad actors, financial distress rescue cases, and know-your-rights advocacy. INK hates bullies. They get justice.

INK does the dirty work.
